Date: 1st & 2nd August 2026
Mode: Online
Participants: 13 women from different parishes of the Diocese
Under the guidance of the Bishop, an online workshop for women was organised from 1st & 2nd August 2026 as part of Goal 2. The sessions were conducted by Mrs. Manik Peter, Mrs. Shashi and Mrs. Rekha.
A total of 13 women from different parishes of the Diocese actively participated in the three-day programme. The workshop focused on the Women’s Commission, the role and responsibilities of women, women’s empowerment, and ways of creating a safe and supportive environment for women and children.
The participants were also introduced to Goal 2, with special emphasis on women’s safety and awareness regarding POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences). The sessions encouraged women to understand their responsibilities, recognise the importance of safeguarding, and become more confident in taking an active role in the Women’s Commission and parish activities.
The participants showed great interest, enthusiasm and active involvement throughout the sessions. They appreciated the opportunity to learn about the Women’s Commission and expressed their willingness to be part of its activities.
Overall, the online workshop was very fruitful and encouraging. It created awareness, strengthened the participation of women and provided a good foundation for taking the Goal 2 initiative forward.
As a follow-up, we plan to conduct further awareness and training sessions in September, with the aim of reaching and empowering more women at the parish and diocesan levels.
We thank the Bishop for his guidance and support and all the participants for their active and enthusiastic participation.
