An awareness session on POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace) was conducted at the Pastoral Centre, Ghat Gate, as part of Goal 2. The session was led by Neelam Chopra, Regional Secretary, Agra Region, and focused on creating awareness about women’s safety, dignity and rights.

The session covered the meaning and forms of sexual harassment, key provisions of the POSH Act, the role of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), confidentiality, complaint procedures and the importance of timely intervention and responsible reporting.

Through practical examples, real-life situations and interactive discussions, participants were encouraged to understand how to identify, prevent and respond to harassment and abuse. The importance of creating a culture of safety, respect, dignity, equality and zero tolerance was emphasised.

Participants took an active interest in the session, raised questions and shared their views. Relevant helpline numbers and avenues for seeking assistance were also shared.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks to Neelam Ma’am for her valuable guidance and efforts.

Conclusion:

The session was meaningful and informative, strengthening participants’ understanding of POSH, prevention measures and reporting mechanisms. It reinforced the message that awareness is the first step towards prevention and creating safer, respectful and supportive environments for women and children
