On Sunday, 27 September 2026, the Catholic Diocese of Bareilly organised an online awareness session for women. The objective of the session was to create awareness among women about their rights and important laws related to their safety and protection at the workplace and in society.

The programme began with a prayer, followed by a formal welcome to all the participants. Thereafter, the resource person and main speaker, Ms. Neelam Chopra, addressed the participants. She provided valuable information on the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) and the POSH Act (Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act).

Ms. Chopra explained the objectives of these laws, the rights of women, safety and protection measures, and the importance of awareness in a simple and effective manner. She also encouraged the participants to understand their rights and responsibilities and to remain vigilant about issues concerning safety and dignity.

Approximately 11 women actively participated in the online session. The participants listened attentively and gained useful knowledge and awareness from the session.

The programme was inspired and guided by Director Sister Deepa, whose encouragement and guidance contributed significantly to the successful organisation of the awareness session.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource person, organisers, participants, and Director Sister Deepa for their valuable support and cooperation.

The session was a meaningful and constructive initiative towards creating greater awareness among women about their rights, safety, and legal protection, thereby contributing to their empowerment.
